Böcksteiner Straße

Based on the maximum construction area of the property, the building was developed with four residential units, with multiple projecting and recessed areas. In keeping with this typology, window and door openings in different shapes and sizes perforate the block. The classic façade orientation, with its homogeneous window arrangement, was broken up by using a mixture of small, wide, and square windows with skylights.

Welcome Zone West Allianz Arena

A player installation was designed for the VIP and Business entrance of the Allianz Arena, which accompanies guests as they move along the escalators to the premium and box areas. The juxtaposition of portraits of the current FC Bayern Munich squad, represents a reinterpretation of the classic team image. The more the viewer shifts their perspective, the more the players’ individual contours blend into one person.

House N

A detached house on Samerberg was designed for a couple from Munich. The site plan provided for a main house as well as an outbuilding to be rented as a vacation apartment. The focal point of the new house is the large mezzanine opening in which the stairwell is centred. The design concept addressed themes such as expansion and contraction, insight and outlook, as well as light and shadow. Both spaces blend into the topography of the site due to the vertical placement of their structures.

Student apartment house Würzburg

The existing complex – consisting of front building, courtyard, and rear building – is located on Semmelstrasse in the centre of Würzburg. Historically, this street was a centre for the baking trade, where many bakers had their bakeries and shops. It was important that the architectural quality and historic atmosphere of the building remain alive, even after the reconstruction and renovation. For this reason, apartments of different sizes were carefully planned within the structure. A total of 54 rooms in 20 apartments were created. Each 3–4 rooms share a common kitchen and bath. All three parts of the building are accessed from the inner courtyard.

House M

The building represents the layering of two-house typologies. The ground floor was designed as a bungalow, supporting the volume of a detached house. In this way, the client’s wish to live in bungalow was met, while still accommodating all the necessary rooms in a room plan for a family of four. The ground floor was retained as a very open, spacious area for the family to gather and live, while the upper floor bedrooms and bathrooms were arranged around a central mezzanine opening. The layering of the volumes can also be seen in the façade design. While the ground floor was made of exposed concrete, the upper floor, with its plaster finish, has a more discreet appearance.

Gore Tex Brand Room

A temporary Brand Room was designed for Gore-Tex within their corporate headquarters in Feldkirchen-Westerham. The empty floor will be used for presentations, exhibitions, and events in the future. For this purpose, a meandering structure was built into the space creating rooms, areas, and niches. The angled line of the continuous wall was repeatedly interrupted and broken through. Parts of the remaining fragments develop into spaces that can be used as presentation areas, service areas, or storage. The concept of “wall” can be designed as a separation with a two-sided presentation alignment, or as a consolidating exhibition of the architecture. Openings in the walls allow for passages or separations, visual connections or boundaries. Mobile presentation furniture and working walls allow for a wide variety of room configurations.

Koppelmann optics

The design of the new Koppelmann store in Gelterkinden near Basel follows the principle of a clear arrangement of the presentation and consulting area. The shelves form the backbone of the room and surround the consultation tables.

The strict linear arrangement of the glasses makes it easy for customers to find their way around. The slats create horizontal presentation stripes that guide and direct the viewer’s eye. This gives the customer a quick overview of the products. The white background makes the spectacle frames look almost like art objects, their colors forming the only color accent against the homogeneous back wall. Green carpet islands form the only color accent in the new store.

Paulaner Fan Zone Allianz Arena

Following the departure of TSV 1860 Munich from the Allianz Arena, the stadium’s Fan Zone North was completely redesigned and rebuilt. The previously large, continuous area was divided in half with a floor-to-ceiling folding wall and is shared during Champions League matches by UEFA and FC Bayern Munich. On FC Bayern Munich match days, the Fan Zone serves as a new starting point for fans and stadium guests. On non-match days, tours of the Allianz Arena begin here. The interior design is inspired by the classic breweries and restaurants in Munich. Materials used include wood, steel, natural stone, and copper. Black wall and ceiling elements visually shorten the room through their 90° angled placement, and indicate the buffets, bars, and seating areas.
