For the main entrance of the Klinikum Rechts der Isar in Munich, a new café was designed and realized for the company Käfer. The concept envisions an open and welcoming space that integrates seamlessly into the existing entrance area while at the same time establishing a clear and distinctive identity.
At the heart of the design is a large, polygonally shaped counter that not only serves for sales and distribution but also acts as a striking focal point that structures the space. It forms the functional centerpiece of the café and ensures an efficient organization of operations.
The seating area is divided into three spacious wooden islands, each lushly planted with greenery. These landscaped elements naturally zone the space and contribute significantly to a pleasant atmosphere, while also creating a visual connection to the outdoors.
With its clear layout, warm materials, and green accents, the café functions as a new meeting and communication hub for doctors, staff members, and patients alike.
