Entega trade show booth

The client requested a trade show booth built as a moveable, open, three-dimensional sculpture. The areas should be accessible from three sides without an obvious indication of which is the main or side entrance. The organically formed space merely suggests an enclosed space and divides the booth into different function areas. The division of these areas is enhanced through changing flooring materials.

World Ski Championships St. Moritz 2017

In cooperation with Wassermann & Company from Basel, CBA planned the interior design of the VIP tent for the World Ski Championships 2017 in St. Moritz. The temporary building holds about 1,500 guests a day on two levels during the two weeks of racing. The concept provides for a strong connection between the architecture and the food offered. The regional cuisine is enhanced by the fittings’ natural surface materials and furniture such as wood, stone, or felt. Different furniture typologies divide and give rhythm to the large areas.

Wine shop Brienner Strasse

A wine shop was designed in a former office space in the heart of Munich. Due to its proximity to Munich’s museum quarter, it serves as a bistro and wine shop during the day and as an event space in the evening. Surrounded by glass on three sides, the room resembles a showroom for the presentation of wine and food. Mobile, gold-painted steel shelves offer the option of flexible decoration. Presenting a motif of the wine god Bacchus, a 100m2 printed acoustic ceiling creates a link to the room’s use.

House of encounters

A patchwork family from Munich wanted a design for a private house that allows enough space and privacy for both families, but also offers the possibility of interconnecting rooms and areas to inhabit the house as one unit. Uncoupled from a property, a house of gathering, retreat, and change was diagrammatically designed.

The goal is to create a higher quality of stay with the possibility of short communication. This will involve distributing floor speakers along the entire length, emerging from the walls at angles and serving a second purpose of high tables. Youth Center Preston

The main focus within the complexity of the new intervention around Preston Bus Station is to re-enhance it as an iconic landmark and key role-player in the urban dynamics of the city. Therefore, the proposal for the whole site, whilst introducing a strong new image for the site, derives from a very simple gesture that doesn’t harm the existing building.

The first step is the demarcation of an area that encompasses the Bus Station. It acts as an urban platform, emphasizing its importance as an essential public feature in Preston. Also, it delimits a distinct new pavement in the city landscape, absorbing sidewalks and also car lanes, communicating a unique quality to that area, where people can not only commute, but also meet and stay.
This platform is also the base element for our volumetric strategy. By cutting out and lifting up corners on opposite ends of the western apron of the Bus Station, new facades are created, that open up to the city and, at the same time, hide themselves from the view of the existing building, never touching it. The resulting triangular shapes allow for smooth transitions and balanced relationships between the elements of the composition. Being asymmetrical and having different heights, they meet the need for a larger, iconic new facility on the north end, but also for a smaller but essential marking on the south end, a new beacon for the people coming from the city centre through Lord Street. Also, the two buildings become the limits of a distinct plaza, a kind of canyon that widens up to the Bus Station, always allowing for a full view of its iconic façade. To the outside of the site, the plaza relates to St. John’s Centre’s main entrance and allows the flow from the existing park between Old Vicarage and Lord Street, strengthening its relationship with the Guild Hall and the other urban highlights at the other end of the park.

Frankfurter Ring 150

The design envisages the holistic urban view and design of the former printing location of the publisher Schneider Buchverlag on the Frankfurter Ring in Munich. The goal is to add value to the industrial ensemble in terms of architecture and function as well as to remain competitive as a commercial location on the rental market. The concept focuses on emphasizing the particularities and qualities of the individual structures through the architecture and functional allocation. Today, the grounds already display a heterogeneous use which will also be incorporated and intensified. Fashion showrooms, office and agency spaces, workshops, a childcare facility as well as a central gastronomical facility generate an exciting mix on the grounds and also create synergy effects.
